Welcome by the Phase Head
Muallimah Amina Kola
Malcolm Gladwell, the renowned author of the book entitled The Outliers: a book about factors which contribute to high levels of success, states that practice is not the thing you do once you are good. It is the thing you do that makes you good.
Our Ambition at APAX is to groom and inculcate an ethos of hard work, perseverance and enquiring minds able to stand up to challenges in life. Our endeavour is to not only to develop individuals who excel academically but who also display leadership qualities, excellent participation in extracurricular activities and who are committed to school life in general.
It is only through the hard work and dedication from both the learners and staff at APAX that we will be able to achieve such results.

ABOUT
Grades 7, 8 and 9 make up the Senior Phase. This Phase gives your child the opportunity to learn independence, acquire new skills and prepare for the world of work. From ages 13 to 15, your teen will be experiencing many new transitional developments in their lives – especially rapid physical, mental/intellectual, and emotional changes. This period is frequently considered the most difficult period of adolescence.
At APAX, we understand that this may be a very difficult and emotional time for both parents and their children. With this in mind our educators are able to guide learners in achieving the full potential both at school and at home.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMME
As an independent school registered with the Department of Education, we follow the CAPS Curriculum. Our timetables are drawn up incorporating both Secular and Islamic Subjects. It is therefore compulsory for all learners to take all subjects.
In this Phase we aim to produce learners who are able to:
- Identify and solve problems and make decisions using critical and creative thinking.
- Work effectively as individuals and with others as members of a team.
- Organize and manage themselves and their activities responsibly and effectively.
- Collect, analyze, organize and critically evaluate information.
- Communicate effectively using visual, symbolic and/or language skills in various modes.
- Use science and technology effectively and critically, showing responsibility towards the environment and the health of others.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the world as a set of related systems by recognizing that problem-solving contexts do not exist in isolation.
- Identify and promote the Islamic ethos of the school.
