Junior Primary — Grades R to 3

Building the Foundations

At APAX, our Junior Primary phase — with a dynamic Grade R programme — lays a strong foundation for both academic success and personal growth. Learners are immersed in a stimulating environment where STEM, Islamiaat, and values-based education work together to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

Our curriculum covers core subjects (English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, and Life Skills) while focusing on how children learn. With innovative methods and differentiated support, we cater to each child’s unique learning style. Our Islamiaat programme — including Qur’an, Surahs, Duas, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqaaid and Islamic History — nurtures a meaningful Islamic identity from the start.

Rooted in values like kindness, respect, responsibility, and excellence, we aim to build independence, critical thinking, and strong communication skills. A dedicated Learning Support Crew — with a therapist, counsellor, and trained educators — ensures every learner receives holistic support. With additional expertise in INPP methodologies, we address developmental needs to help each child thrive.

Junior Primary at APAX is where the journey begins — nurturing minds, shaping character, and preparing learners to grow with purpose.

Senior Primary Phase Grades 4–6

Strengthening Identity, Expanding Horizons

In the Senior Primary years, we focus on strengthening academic skills, deepening Islamic identity, and guiding learners through a vital stage of personal growth. This phase is about building confident, compassionate, and capable young individuals who are grounded in values and ready to face life’s challenges with integrity and purpose.

We provide a safe and supportive environment where learners are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning. As a registered independent school, we follow the CAPS curriculum — offering English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Sciences & Technology, Social Sciences, and Life Skills — while integrating values and real-world application into every lesson.

Our Islamiaat programme continues with Qur’aan, Surahs, Duas, Fiqh, Aqaaid, Quranic Arabic, and Islamic History, all taught with relevance to daily life. From Grade 4 onwards, we also offer a fully supported Hifdh programme for both boys and girls, led by qualified instructors who balance memorisation with academic success.

Through collaboration with educational partners and professionals, we ensure our teaching, support structures, and curriculum remain innovative and holistic — addressing the spiritual, academic, and emotional needs of every learner.

At APAX, Senior Primary is a journey of growth, connection, and purpose — where faith and learning walk side by side to shape tomorrow’s leaders, thinkers, and believers.
