Learning support
Personalised Guidance for Holistic Progress
At APAX, we recognise that every child learns differently, and some may need extra support to thrive academically. Our dedicated School Learning Support Therapist plays a vital role in assisting learners from Grade R to Grade 6 who have been identified with specific learning challenges, particularly in Mathematics and English.
Through carefully tailored, one-on-one intervention sessions held during the school day, learners receive focused attention in a calm and supportive setting. The goal is not only to strengthen core academic skills, but also to build confidence, improve classroom participation, and ensure that each learner is meaningfully reintegrated into the mainstream learning environment.
Working in close collaboration with educators and parents, our Learning Support Therapist ensures that learners are guided with compassion, professionalism, and a clear plan for long-term success — reinforcing our commitment that no child is left behind.
School Counselling
Nurturing Emotional Wellbeing and Safe Spaces
At APAX, we believe that a learner’s emotional and psychosocial well-being is just as important as academic achievement. Our School Counsellor provides a safe, confidential, and supportive space for learners who may be facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges. Whether it’s anxiety, grief, family dynamics, or peer pressure, learners are guided with compassion and care, always with their best interests at heart.
The counselling process is conducted in a manner that is entirely confidential, with a strong emphasis on protecting the learner’s dignity, trust, and privacy. The counsellor works closely with educators and, where appropriate, parents — ensuring that each learner is supported holistically without stigma or judgment.
In addition to individual counselling, the School Counsellor also assists with psychometric guidance and plays a key role in whole-school wellness initiatives, including anti-bullying campaigns, social-emotional learning, and the promotion of a positive school climate. Through early identification and proactive support, we strive to create an environment where every learner feels seen, heard, and empowered to succeed — emotionally, socially, and academically.
